Trying to think what to make for our International Food Cook Off in October during Customer Service week. It has to be a main dish, appetizer, or dessert, so no side dishes. That rules out my Athenian Green Beans. So far, the only thing I can think of is my Great Goulash Paprikash because it is easy, and cheap to make. Maybe the Tuscan Chicken and Beans? Equally easy and cheap, even if the recipe has to be increased. But honestly, I just don't know. I should be able to think of something better.

Kevin Smith talks about Degrassi.

The 3 episode arc with Jay and Silent Bob will be released on DVD in November.

11: What are some recent movies and television shows that the Degrassi actors have appeared in?

Stacie Mistysyn was in "The Wrong Girl" on NBC. Pat Mastroianni was in Godzilla as Apache Pilot #5. The twins (Maureen and Angela Deiseich) were often seen on The Kids in the Hall, Dayo Ade (BLT) was also seen in the Kids in The Hall, Stefan Brogren is in an upcoming movie called Hairshirt, Andy Chambers (Luke) has a production company in British Columbia. Bill Parrott and Stefan Brogren often appear in Beer commercials and L. Dean Ifill was in a LEVIS Jeans ad. Anais Granofsky can be seen in Three To Tango.

The twins and BLT in Kids In The Hall? Hmmm. I need to check that out.

I love Vh-1 Classics "The Alternative".

The setlist so far? Pet Shop Boys (It's A Sin), Lush (Sweetness & Light) , The The (Infected), XTC (King FOr A Day), New Order (Regret), and now The Farm (All Together Now). Big TIme Operator from The Dead Milkmen just started. :)

Ah, joy. I know the good set won't last...the ALWAYS play something I don't like eventually, but the sheer ratio of hits to misses is staggering. :)

Looks like it is a popular day to post pictures. Hmm. I will have to see what I can do about that later.

...with my political ramblings and general disgust of the way this country is being mis-managed, I negelected to mention my prezzies from the great white north, though it was not all that white. Er, bad joke. Anyhow, Chas picked up a few of the NEW Doctor Who books...they are hardcover, and feature the current doctor and companion. They are basically the the same types of Doctor Who books I have been reading for many years, only with the success of the new show in the UK and Canada (and amongst the American audience that gets the chance to see the epsides), it brings being a Doctor Who fan to a whole new level. There is a whole new audience and new fansbase. He also bought the recent copy of Doctor Who Magazine, that features an interview, with several photos, of the new new doctor, David Tennant. I think I glanced a mention that Sarah Jane Smith, and possibly K-9 will be in the next season.

Must go to bed my friends.

Yay!!! My huggy bear is home!!! He actually got in from Tampa about 2pm, though I only had 30 minutes to reunite with him before I had to head off to work. Now I am home (and so is his luggage!) and I am happy!!!

PS. Day 4 is up, along with a political rant.

I think I am going to go to bed soon. Blah. I should take more olive leaf extract.

Boo. My head hurts. I was going to go to Austin's later tonight for the Katrina releif thing. I haven't been feeling my best the last few days and I may have an infection, but I don't know for sure. I was feeling ok for much of the day, but now, I just don't know. I withheld seeing the kidlets today, in the event I am contagious, so I should probably not go to Austins, though adult immune systems are stronger than kids, and I don't know if I am infectious or not. Ack, I should eat something.

While "Elegia" is beautiful and really stunning, I still think "The Perfect Kiss" is my favorite New Order song. I mean, it has frogs and a cow bell in the song. :)

Come to the CHASbah once again. (Note: the pictures are the same link from the Day 1 post)

Aside from a few typos, and such, here is Day 1 of Chas' trip. Link to the pictures is at the top...I missed that the first time. Slideshow is good to use, because you get bigger pictures. :)

Will post when new stuff comes in, or you can just check the page periodically for his updates if you are interested.

I miss my huggy bear terribly. I can't wait to have him wrap his arms around me, lift me off the ground, and give me a big smooch. :)

More random stuff )

Ok, so the food and clothing drive is a no-go now, and they've decided to fund raise for the Red Cross at work, in partnership with Central Florida News 13. So you can call in a donation if you like. In addition, I will be having a "dim sum" Pampered Chef party on 11 September at 3pm, and I have talked with [livejournal.com profile] maggie226 about having a fund raiser with that party, and it looks like we will be able to set up the Round Up From The Heart to donate to the food banks in the Gulf coast, and other areas hit hard by Hurricane Katrina.

My heart goes out to all who have lost something, anything, from the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, whether it be personal belongings, friends, or memories. Or anything.

If you would like to help out, but don't have any money to contribute to any organisations or causes, but you have material goods such as clothing and food that you can donate, and you can get that to me, I will bring it in to work, at Brighthouse Networks, where we will be collectng supplies to send.

I am going to investigatge other possible opportunities to help also.

Thank you.

I just had a chat with Chas on AIM/iChat, and he is safe and sound in the hotel in Seattle now. He praised the city looking beautiful at night, the numerous recycling bins, and the lack of Hummers on the road. :)

Tomorrow he gets up early to take the train into Vancouver.

I missed him as soon as I could no longer see his car driving away, though I have yet to cry as I have on previous occasions when he has gone away on a trip (but I have been a little choked up here and there today).

Well, time for beddie bye.

So, I checked the two signs out this morning. The wanted sign just wanted information about suspicious behaviour and such, so it appears that it was arson. The other sign was actually a danger sign, and not a reward sign as it had looked like from my back window.
